Long-term planning / Music year overview
Before purchasing or commencing teaching the Primary Planning scheme of work, you first need to map out the long-term music plan for the academic year. This is your long-term Year Overview. Below, you will find three different long-term plans based upon a standard Music curriculum from EYFS to Year 6, a mixed year group curriculum for all year groups, and also a bespoke long-term plan, from which you can create your own completely bespoke music curriculum based upon our 44 different units. Download the long-term plan which is most applicable to your school.
Standard long-term plan
Click here to download our long-term music plan for all year groups. Don't worry if you are not teaching all year groups, as you can edit the downloadable file to delete year groups that are not applicable to your school. YYou can edit this file, enabling you to change the order of the units or choose different units taught for different year groups. Click the down arrow next to the unit number to change the unit. Mixed year group long-term plan
Click here to download our long-term music plan for mixed year groups (Cycle A / Cycle B). Don't worry if you are not teaching all year groups or if the mix of year groups on the template are not applicable to your school, as you can edit the downloadable file to delete year groups or add additional year groups to meet your requirements by clicking the drop-down arrow. Bespoke long-term plan
Click here to download our fully editable long-term music plan. This is the long-term plan for you if you wish to start our music scheme mid-academic year or if you would like to pick and choose the order in which the units are taught. You can edit this file, enabling you to change the order of the units or allocate different units to different year groups by clicking the drop-down arrow. Once you have created a long-term music plan and joined our members' area, you are ready to start teaching. To access all of our music resources, simply click on the Music Resources button from the menu above.
